ABOUT US

African Health Now is a New York based nonprofit dedicated to improving the health and wellness of the African community in the United States and on the continent.

The organization was founded in 2006 by Nana Eyeson, after she was faced with the challenges most Africans endure when dealing with the illness of a loved one back home. She realized the lifesaving importance of providing basic health information and resources for non-communicable diseases to Africans back home; information most Americans take for granted.

With the help of 21 friends she coordinated the first annual "Gift of Life @ Christmas" health fair in Ghana. They provided blood pressure screenings, glucose testing, dental consultations, health lessons and most importantly one on one discussions on acheiving a health lifestyle. The fair served 300+ Ghanaians and gave birth to what is now African Health Now.

African Health Now's mission is to promote the health and health care of people of Pan-African descent residing in both the United States and abroad. African Health Now provides information and accessibility to resources through conferences, workshops, health fairs and on-going programs.

Our focus is to provide Africans with free health fairs and seminars promoting healthy living.
